On
Monday, November 5th, 2001, we went to Nausicaà, the National Centre of the Sea in Boulogne-sur-Mer. We went to find out about plankton. I learned that jellyfish are a type of animal plankton. Animal plankton needs light and lives in the currents, on the surface of the water. |

I
know now that with a pinch of salt and a ray of sun we have plankton. The animal plankton consists of tiny animals, often the babies of the crab, of the ray... It feeds on plant plankton. The plant plakton is made up of millions of algae which float on the surface of the sea, it needs light and mineral salts to develop. Both sorts of plankton stay on the surface of the water.
