Filming on the Côte d'Opale

After the journey to Pieterburen in Holland, we continue the filming in class,
then in small groups on Wednesdays. We decide to find out  about what actions 
have been put in place to protect the seals near Calais.


It's autumn, it's raining, but nothing stops us !

For us it is an exceptionnal experience to meet the different organisations working 
along the coast to protect the harbour seals. We have met :

Caroline and Xavier of "l’Observatoire du Littoral". 

Jérôme the warden at Hemmes de Marck.

M. Cadet, teacher, who during his spare time studies seal-hunting at 
the beginning of the century

 Yannick : is responsable for saving the animals in difficulty.

Eric, fascinated by marine mammals and comic strips :
for the past year he has been working on a comic strip about seals.

  Jean-Michel and Pierre-Yves, of the Animal Protection League in Calais.

 

We have a lot of fun during filming.
 With « Pégase » we are a "dream team" !

We would like the seals 
to be treated and released off 
our beaches rather than 
be sent to Pieterburen. 
This is the main objective of
the "seal lovers" who follow 
the small colony in Calais ; 
but there is still a lot of work
to safeguard this existing small
colony and allow it to develop
and become a permanent feature. 

The film crew : Zoran, Barnabé, Barbara,
 are filming on a beach at Fort-Vert.
