We
are off to visit with E.N.R (Regional
Wildlife Park). It is 9 a.m. and we walk
across the dunes looking for the :
"Harbour Seals".
Along the way, Murielle explains a lot
of things about the seals' lives.
We are are going to take turns with
the telescope.
I can see four seals !!!
Distemper has killed thousands of Harbour
Seals in Europe. We learn to recognise the
differents parts of a
seal's body, and to tell
the difference, on the horizon, between
a piece of wood and a seal.
We learn to recognise the outline of
a dolphin, a turtle, a shark and a seal.
We mustn't get nearer than
560 yds (500 m.) to the seals because if
we frighten them, they
will go and not
come back.
A seal has short hair and a lot of fat.
If it scratches us,
we can became ill and so
can he, as there are germs under his claws.

We take turns in looking
through the binoculars.
